City staff provided the council an update on the capital improvement plan (CIP), reporting roughly $5.3 million in completed projects so far this fiscal year and outlining projects in design and procurement stages that total about $13.9 million.
Staff said completed work includes sewer‑line replacements, Site 6 ground storage‑tank rehabilitation and leak repairs on an elevated storage tank. Projects in design include East Jefferson water and sewer upgrades (95% design; bid postponed), Hurricane Creek interceptor (30% design; $3.4M estimated total), and Ballard interceptor design ($670,000). "So the project totals $13,900,000 for the CIP projects," staff reported. No council action was required; members thanked staff for progress and cost‑saving measures.
