The City Council approved a rezoning request to reclassify roughly 2.3 acres on the north side of Martin Duke Road from agricultural to plan development with underlying C‑2 commercial designation. Staff said the request allows light‑intensity flex office/warehouse/showroom uses—excluding auto‑related uses—and requires street‑facing facades to be at least 60% masonry and a right‑of‑way dedication for a planned future Lincoln Park Road alignment.
Alex told the council that the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended unanimous approval, subject to a development agreement that mirrors the masonry and right‑of‑way provisions. "The plan development also obligates the right‑of‑way dedication for future Lincoln Park Road, which is approximately 110 feet in width," Alex said. Council approved the rezoning subject to the development agreement and later approved the development agreement ordinance, both by 7–0 votes.
