Tuxedo pursues up to $15 million in grants for hamlet revitalization and infrastructure improvements

Deputy Supervisor Deirdre Murphy told the board March 11 that the Town has applied for grant funding totaling up to $15 million to support a package of revitalization and economic development projects for the hamlet. Proposed improvements listed by staff include pedestrian walkways, a welcome center at the train station, connections to Powerhouse Park and the Riverwalk, and streetscape and crosswalk enhancements.
Murphy said the Town will host Orange County elected officials for a tour of Tuxedo Reserve and a presentation on revitalization plans as part of a coordinated strategy to support both new development and existing businesses. The board described the grant effort as an effort to secure infrastructure investments to foster long-term community growth.
