Tupper Lake trustees approve multiple personnel moves, promote and hire water/wastewater staff

The Village of Tupper Lake Board of Trustees on Nov. 18 announced several personnel actions. Mayor Fontana announced that Kathy Savage will be village clerk effective Nov. 25, 2025 (as recorded in the minutes) and Kyle Fuller will assume the Village Treasurer role effective Dec. 1, 2024; Fuller’s resignation as Deputy Village Clerk was accepted effective Dec. 1 in anticipation of the appointment. Trustees promoted John Bujold from Water/Wastewater Helper to Water/Wastewater Worker retroactive to Oct. 24, 2024 and hired Bart Crary as a part‑time Water/Wastewater Superintendent and Grade 3 Wastewater Operator effective Dec. 1, 2024; motions carried 5‑0. The board also accepted a retirement letter from Electric Inventory Clerk Matthew Harris effective Nov. 29, 2024 and approved multiple fire department membership actions.
In executive session, trustees voted 4‑1 (Mayor Fontana abstained) to demote Joseph Arsenault from Temporary DPW Foreman and reappoint him as a Water/Wastewater Worker effective Nov. 21, 2024 because he lacks a Grade 2 Wastewater Operator License; minutes note Franklin County Civil Service restrictions on extending the foreman appointment. The board also approved a $3,500 salary increase for Court Clerk Bridgette LaPierre effective Dec. 1, 2024 (bringing her hourly rate to $28.60); that motion carried 4‑1 with Trustee LeBlanc abstaining.
