The Village of Tupper Lake Board of Trustees voted 4–0 on Dec. 2 to confirm a slate of officers and departmental assignments for the 2024–25 official year. Mayor Mary Fontana read the appointments aloud and the board approved them on a motion by Trustee Eric Shaheen, seconded by Trustee Richard Pickering.
Key appointments included naming Eric Shaheen deputy mayor; assigning oversight of the Police Department to Mayor Mary Fontana; Public Works to Trustee Leon LeBlanc; Water/Wastewater to Trustee Richard Pickering; and Electric and Municipal Park oversight to Trustee Eric Shaheen. Administrative positions approved included Kathy Savage as Village Clerk, Kyle Fuller as Village Treasurer, Melissa Dominie as Deputy Village Treasurer, Nathan Race as Village Attorney, Jon Kopp as Village Historian, Mary Kay Strack as Registrar of Vital Statistics, and Carl Steffen as Emergency Management Coordinator. Trustee David Maroun, though absent, was appointed to oversee the Fire Department and Municipal Park for the year. The board carried the appointments by unanimous recorded vote, and the meeting adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
