Coldspring council hears sewer report; pump overload repaired after $10,215 quote, camera inspection finds cracked pipe under SH-150

Josh Taylor, the city's sewer operator, presented the Operation of Treatment Plant and Collections System report and said the plant operated "at 27 percent capacity" in January and "flowed an average of 0.55 MGD." He reported rain total of 2.75 inches for the month and updated council on lift-station work: "Allied Utility was the lowest quote at $10,215. They have ordered the pump and the overload," Taylor said regarding Pump #2's burned overload at Lift Stations 1 and 2. Stations 3–6 reported no issues.
Taylor also reported that a television inspection of the sewer line crossing beneath State Highway 150 at Weaver Street found "a dip in the sewer line and the initial part of the pipe itself is cracked," which may require repair planning or further engineering assessment. Council did not record a formal vote or appropriation at the Feb. 3 meeting to address the line repair; the Allied Utility quote for the pump was noted as the lowest bid for the station repair.
