Jeff Blackstone sworn in to Coffee City council Place 2

The Coffee City Council appointed Jeff Blackstone to the vacant Place 2 seat during its Feb. 10 meeting and City Secretary Mary McDonald administered his oath of office.
Mayor Marquis Castleberry introduced Blackstone and noted the council was "already familiar with Mr. Blackstone as he was the former mayor." Ollie Harmon moved to appoint Blackstone, Kevin Haughey seconded and the motion carried. Mary McDonald swore in Blackstone, who then took his seat on the council.
The appointment followed a routine roll call at 6:00 p.m. and did not generate extended discussion. Council members present approved the motion by voice vote per the minutes.
