Committee selects Julie Griffis as Officer Delegate to MERS conference; Susan Zielinski named alternate

Controller/Administrator Lisa Sagala presented a request that the Board select an Officer Delegate and alternate to attend the Municipal Employees’ Retirement System (MERS) annual conference Oct. 8–9, 2026, in Grand Rapids. The committee moved to recommend Julie Griffis as Officer Delegate and Susan Zielinski as the alternate; the motion (moved by Gustad, seconded by Dontz) carried with members present recorded as voting aye.
The minutes note that the Officer Delegate must be an officer of the county and that the Employee Delegate and alternate are selected by county employee election. The county packet includes the MERS certification form and instructions for submitting delegate names with conference registration.
