The Manistee County Ways & Means Committee reviewed finance officer Susan Zielinski’s July claiming summaries and recommended approval of checks, ACH payments and payroll covering July 1–31, 2026, totaling $2,715,418.65. “Moved by Dontz, seconded by Gustad to recommend the approval of the on-demand checks, bills and payroll, be accepted in the amount of $2,715,418.65; and that the same be placed on file,” the minutes record.
Zielinski presented fund-level detail and on-demand/ACH totals for a range of funds including the General Fund, Airport Authority Fund and OPEB Trust Fund; the minutes also list total payroll for July at $1,009,657.99. Committee members Jeff Dontz and Eric Gustad voted to recommend approval; Commissioner Richard Schmidt was recorded absent.
The committee’s recommendation will be forwarded to the full Board of Commissioners for final action and placement on the county record. The minutes note the claims and payroll documents are included as Appendix A in the meeting packet.
