Trustees debate responsibility for Fire District legal bill; direction to have district pay from its funds

Trustee Coleman said he would like to hear directly from Chief Evans but said in his view the invoice should be paid by the fire district. Trustee Stewart noted the board's past efforts to separate district funds from village control and asked that future Fire District expenses be paid by the district. The board asked staff and Chief Evans to clarify and to ensure a formal process for payment responsibility going forward.
