City Administrator Mike Kramm summarized multiple administrative and capital-project updates in his staff report to the council. He reported that Finance Director Cheryl Hunter renewed the city's property and flood insurance policies last month, two damaged palm trees were removed with replacement planned in front of city hall, and a groundbreaking for the VIP Marina dry-storage and ship's store is scheduled for April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. He also reported the boat ramp had been poured and that work on the south pier and parking lot preparations were underway.
Kramm said he submitted a reimbursement request to the state for $229,883.93. He told the council that the fire marshal had identified an issue with permitting and inspection fees for large commercial properties and that staff would bring a remedy to the council at a future meeting. He also noted that bids for the Narcissus Road project would be opened on April 9 at 10:00 a.m. and that staff planned a meeting with the Lazy Bend Association president about access during the CLR bridge replacement.
