The councilroom hosted a ceremonial swearing‑in of the 4th Jonesboro Youth City Government administration, whose members were introduced and sworn by Chief Judge Keisha Wright Hill. Youth Mayor Mason White thanked advisers and described a vision for outreach, entrepreneurship and civic education for young people.
White noted the program’s growth since its inception: "What started with a $3,000 budget allocation has grown into a $15,000 investment in the youth leadership," he said, a point council members and county leaders repeatedly praised. Several alumni and county commissioners attended and urged the community and businesses to support the youth council’s activities.
The event included short remarks from several newly sworn youth officers (director of finance, communications, events and community service) who described priorities for the coming year.
