Commissioners approve Shadow Mountain waterline replacement agreement with Highlands Ranch Water and Sanitation

Douglas County voted Aug. 11 to approve an intergovernmental agreement with Highlands Ranch Water and Sanitation District to replace about 1,300 feet of the Shadow Mountain waterline and to coordinate pavement restoration.
Public Works presenter Amy Strathopoulos told commissioners the agreement lets the county contract paving and provide permanent restoration (mill and overlay half the road) after the waterline trenching is completed. Staff described the approach as more efficient for residents and district operations, and noted paving is scheduled for the fall following the late-summer utility work.
The board moved, seconded and approved the IGA without public comment.
