The Comfort Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 7–0 on Feb. 10 to adopt revisions to the 2024–25 school calendar.
Trustee Alison Judkins moved that the board adopt the revised calendar with three changes: April 21, 2025, will be a workday; May 12, 2025, will be a school day rather than a holiday; and the week of June 30–July 3, 2025, will be a paid holiday for staff who work during the summer. Trustee Larry Thayn seconded the motion, and the board approved it unanimously. The vote was recorded in the meeting minutes as passing 7–0.
The change affecting May 12 reverses a previously noted holiday and restores instructional time on that date. The calendar revision also creates a short paid break for summer staff between June 30 and July 3. The minutes do not record further debate or conditions attached to the motion.
The board convened a closed session earlier in the meeting and reconvened before taking this action; the minutes note that no action is taken during closed session. The revised calendar will be reflected in district communications and on the district’s official calendar.
