County approves Phase 3 contract amendments for Cliff Rose Trail; project to reach 33 miles when complete

Washington County approved contract amendments with American Conservation Experience and Ptarmigan Trails to complete phase 3 of the Cliff Rose Trail (formerly Spring Hollow). Staff said phase 3 will add roughly 11.5 miles and bring the trail system to around 33 miles when finished.
The commission approved a first amendment to a professional services contract with American Conservation Experience and a second amendment with Ptarmigan Trails to continue construction of Cliff Rose Trail phase 3. Staff described the project as a multi-phase partnership with Dixie National Forest and said phase 3 will extend the existing network and create loops and a connector to the Blake Gubler trailhead.
When completed, staff said, "When phase 3 is done, 33 miles." They also reported that Forest Service counters show user visits north of 50,000 for 2025. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the contract amendments by voice vote to allow construction on three trail segments of the phase 3 scope to proceed in the coming months.
