County approves professional services agreement for Desert Color mountain-bike trail project

Commissioners approved a contract with Mountain Surf Creative to construct a portion of the Desert Color Mountain Bike Trail System (to meet NICA state-championship requirements) with work planned to start April 20 pending finalized agreements on access and staging.
Leslie Fonger told commissioners the resolution under consideration would contract Mountain Surf Creative, LLC to construct new trail segments in the Desert Color area north of SR-7 and to bring sections up to standards to host the NICA high-school mountain-biking state championship.
"This is specifically to do the Mountain Bike Trail Course in the Desert Color area north of SR7," Fonger said, describing the April 20 start date if the agreement is adopted. The staff presentation noted a pending finalized agreement with Desert Color for access, staging and updated contract exhibits. The board approved Resolution R-2026-3733 to enter the professional-services agreement and direct staff to finalize related access arrangements.
