City council affirms Monahans Volunteer Fire Department officer slate for 2026

The council approved the slate, confirming: John Bell, Fire Chief; Roy Bean, Assistant Fire Chief; Cody Jimenez, 1st Captain; Roy Garcia, 2nd Captain; Billy Thackerson, 3rd Captain; Joshua Smith, 4th Captain and Secretary-Treasurer; Leroy Case, President; Chris Bejaran, Vice President; Armando Flores, Chaplain. Trustees of the Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund approved were Jeff Jones (term expires Jan. 2027), Albert Siebenhor (term expires Jan. 2028) and Roy Bean (term expires Jan. 2029).
The motion to approve the slate was made by Councilman Calvin Carrell and seconded by Councilman Jeppie S. Wilson Jr.; the motion carried with four recorded "Aye" votes and one absent. The council did not record any dissenting remarks during the approval.
