NDSU Extension explains salary split with NDSU and county benefits for 2027

Sarah Leidy with NDSU Extension explained the staffing and benefit arrangement for the county extension office: agent salaries are split 50/50 between NDSU and the county and NDSU pays the benefits for the agents. She said only one local administrative employee (Tricia) receives county-paid benefits. "Sarah Leidy with NDSU Extension, Nancy County," she said when identifying herself to the board.
Leidy asked commissioners to note travel and dues increases and to allow staff time to plug final benefit numbers into the packet; she provided a subtotal of $158,033 (without benefits) and said the final total would be added once Candy supplies the fixed charges. The board acknowledged the submission and asked staff to return finalized totals at the next update.
