Library director says 2027 budget shows a modest positive balance

Shauna, director of the Lake Region Public Library, presented the library’s 2027 budget and said revenue has improved from state grant reimbursements and steadier interest income. She described staff-line reclassifications between permanent and temporary positions, corresponding adjustments to health-insurance allocations, and internal transfers of building-maintenance and AV items into other budget lines. "So our total being with a projection of a positive 5,300," Shauna said when summarizing the amendment.
The director told the board the state reimbursement grant has been received most years and has varied in size; commissioners asked whether it could be relied on for future budgets. Shauna said the grant has fluctuated and the office used a mid-range estimate for planning. The board did not take final action on the library’s lines but accepted the submission as part of the county’s preliminaries to be tallied by staff.
