Sharon, identified by the chair, updated the council on two garden-club projects and asked for patience and assistance as weather delayed planned work.
"With all of the rain that's forecast at the end of this week, we've had to postpone through until we have 4 or 5 days in a row at our drive," Sharon said, describing the need for consecutive dry days before work at Mermaid House can resume. She apologized for delays in Rose Corner maintenance and said she had been coordinating with Cody and IDOT on schedules and placement.
Sharon asked the council to suggest alternate locations for plantings that would be visible to those entering Lebanon, safely accessible and not interfere with mowing or IDOT operations. She said she would continue to schedule planting between anticipated scattered rains so irrigation was effective.
Councilors thanked Sharon and noted the committee will follow up on site recommendations; no formal vote occurred on planting locations tonight.
