The commissioners court voted to approve Lavaca County's order of election for Nov. 3, 2026. The motion passed without additional debate.
During announcements and public comment, a Republican precinct representative (Lorena) updated the court on precinct interviews to select a November ballot replacement for JP2 and announced that Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (CD-15) will hold a meet-and-greet Thursday, Aug. 20 at 1:30 p.m. The representative noted the candidate filing deadline for nominations is Aug. 21 and said the precinct will have a name to present to the court by the Aug. 24 meeting.
