Council hears water-line project timeline and discusses school resource officer renewal
Summary
Superintendent Durbin updated the council on a water-line project starting later in April and the city requested the school superintendent attend the next meeting to discuss a full-time school resource officer requested by the school.
During public comments Superintendent Shawn Durbin told the council that a water-line project is scheduled to start at the end of the month and that the east side of town will be revised upon completion. Durbin also noted ongoing ditching and culvert jetting by public-works staff.
Police Chief Andy Schabbing reported that the school resource officer (SRO) contract is up for renewal and that School Superintendent Kevin Haarman requested a full-time SRO. The council asked Superintendent Haarman to attend the next meeting to discuss staffing and contract options further.
