Council authorizes lead service-line inventory and accepts $9,150 change order reduction

Treasurer Diana Foor presented two related water-infrastructure actions on April 14. First, the council authorized Milano & Grunloh to perform a GPS-based inventory to locate meters, valves and hydrants at a cost of $7,500 to be paid from the city’s lead service line grant. Commissioner Edwards moved to approve the project authorization and Commissioner Schabbing seconded; the motion passed 4-0.
Separately, Treasurer Foor reported that the original bid for the lead service line confirmation project was $29,500 but the actual number of service lines that needed confirmation was smaller. The council accepted Change Order #1, which reduced the project cost to $20,350 — a decrease of $9,150. Commissioner Letizia moved to accept the change order and Commissioner Schabbing seconded; the motion passed 4-0.
