Commissioner Williams relayed that a Neoga resident spoke with a WATCO railroad representative who said asphalt companies will add asphalt to the crossing once companies resume spring operations and that WATCO plans to install barricades to close the crossing. City Administrator/Clerk Brenda Evans said she will contact the railroad to request notification if barricades are installed.
Police Chief Andy Schabbing told the council that in the first 10 days of February the department responded to roughly half the number of calls compared with January. Superintendent Shawn Durbin reported the public works department has been cleaning the chlorine room at the old water plant while performing routine duties.
