Council approves ordinance removing deed reverter for Walk Addition Lot owned by Eric Fritts

The City of Neoga on March 10 approved Ordinance #1104-03-25 to remove a reservation of possibility of reverter from the deed to Walk Addition Lot #1 owned by Eric Fritts. City Clerk Brenda Evans told the council the Cumberland County Assessor has added the property to the tax rolls effective Jan. 1, 2025.
Commissioner Schabbing moved to approve the ordinance and Commissioner Williams seconded. The council recorded ayes from Commissioner Schabbing, Commissioner Williams and Mayor Helm; Commissioner Letizia abstained. The motion was recorded as carried (3-0). The ordinance was presented under the public affairs section of the agenda and was discussed only for the purpose of confirming that the conditions requiring the reverter had been satisfied.
The ordinance listed in the agenda as #1104-03-25 remains the legal instrument to effect the release of the reverter; the council did not add conditions to the release during the meeting. The clerk indicated the county tax-roll update as the administrative confirmation relied on to support the release.
