Bianca Smith, Business Manager, told the Board there were 7,444 customer transactions last month and 92 customers on payment arrangements that can run up to six months. She said the delinquent balance decreased by $60,000 compared with the prior month and that non-payment shut-offs began at the end of March.
Finance (Joseph J. Tomashosky, appearing by phone) said the commission has collected more than it billed in the past couple of years and that higher usage occurs in hot weather. He reported no unplanned major expenses this month beyond a transformer issue, and reminded the Board of ongoing capital outlays such as hydrant replacements, plant underground lines, and well maintenance. Asset management integration is expected next month and the Board is still evaluating options for a call-monitoring system.
