Director Skyler presented the balance sheet as of June 30, 2026 and read several account balances for the commission and the public. He reported the Southside TIF account balance was $7,419,142.23; the Southside TIF debt reserve was $336,308.50; the south side TIF capital account $16,199.79; the north end TIF $3,843,960.27; the east side TIF $1,164,178.50; the northeast TIF $1,733,027.78; and the transit development district $457,142.21. He also said there is a loan forgivable still outstanding for $450,000 and a county business loan fund balance of $94,829.59, with total assets stated as $15,708,507.80.
Chair and commissioners asked that future reports more clearly display amounts encumbered or allocated to projects so the public can see funds already spoken for. "I just want to be sure that the public sees the numbers stay fairly static...we need to make sure that this is showing money that's been encumbered," the Chair said, seeking greater transparency in the presentation of TIF and redevelopment account balances. Skyler replied that staff will line-item allocations as approvals occur and that some funds are reserved for debt payments, bonds and other obligations.
