Commission tables contract increase for Haas & Associates pending corrected backup

The commission considered an amendment to increase the contract award for Haas & Associates to add geotechnical testing, contract administration and inspection related to Ameriplex Drive construction. Engineer Ryan Laughlin described components that include subconsulting/testing, contract administration and observation/inspection.
Laughlin explained that the latest amendment totals $15,500: $5,000 for subconsulting/testing, $2,750 for contract administration and $7,750 for observation and inspection. "Some of that is related to the unsuitable soils that we found out there..." Laughlin said, describing clay and rain-related delays that increased field observation needs. Staff and commissioners noted the packet circulating at the meeting did not include the updated amendment; the chair moved to table the resolution and the motion carried so staff can provide complete backup and the correct figures.
Tabling means the commission will revisit the amendment once staff supplies the corrected documents and line-item detail. Staff said some of the proposed $5,000 testing allowance may not be used depending on field findings.
