Chief reports officer saved life; board approves training and vehicle use

Chief of Police Tim Buehler presented the department’s activity log for the first half of November and highlighted several personnel and equipment updates. Buehler said Officer Cody Powers’ last scheduled night to work will be Thursday, Nov. 21, and that "Cody Powers saved a person’s life on November 15th by administering NarCan and CPR." He also reported George Makicow regained his waiver last week.
Buehler told the board that squad cars will receive graphics from Total Eclipse this week. He asked whether Sgt. Renner would be allowed to use his patrol vehicle while he attends training with St. Clair County; the board gave consensus to allow the vehicle’s use.
