Police Chief Tim Buehler presented the department activity log for the first half of October and noted training and enforcement activity. He said Patrolman Jason Berry completed juvenile training and that Sgt. Renner conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a firearm being seized because the driver did not have a FOID card; on a different stop, methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.
Buehler also raised a taser grant opportunity, noting the first year would be paid in full if accepted and asking trustees to discuss the matter at the Oct. 28 Committee of the Whole meeting. No formal action on the grant was taken at the Oct. 21 meeting.
