City planning staff presented a petition to amend the Future Land Use Plan for approximately 6.0 acres located south and east of West Whitestone Boulevard and Power Lane, proposing a change from Regional Office/Retail/Commercial (REG) to Low Density Residential (LDR).
Andreina Dávila-Quintero, Development Services assistant director, outlined that the property is part of a larger tract and that the applicant wishes to reduce commercial-designated acreage and increase residential lots. The applicant addressed the council; Councilmember Mel Kirkland moved to table the item but the motion died for lack of a second, and no further council action was taken.
