Students seek city support for disc golf course as graduation capstone

Rich Austin, president of Team Seedlink, said the project prioritizes sustainability, is playable year-round and carries low per-user costs. He provided a $15,000 estimate for baskets with a 15–20-year lifespan and said land had been donated by Bob and Brenda Rosebrough and a course designer in Grants has been identified. Gordon McGehee offered a brief history of the property and the donors confirmed suitability for the project. Councilors asked about long-term maintenance, basket sponsorships and whether Councilor Garcia's discretionary funds might help with seed funding.
No formal funding decision was made; staff and council encouraged the students to return with detailed maintenance plans and sponsor commitments.
