The Woods Cross Planning Commission approved a conditional-use permit on Jan. 27 for Interior Worx, a trim and molding manufacturer and wholesaler proposed at 1376 West 2600 South. Code Officer Leah Seawright told commissioners the business indicated all operations and storage will be within the warehouse, that deliveries will occur during regular business hours, and that the company currently has 25 employees with 64 designated employee parking spaces and six customer spaces.
Applicant Matt Pearson addressed the commission and offered to amend operating hours to 7:00 AM–7:00 PM to mitigate noise concerns; Ms. Seawright confirmed the city’s quiet hours are 10:00 PM–7:00 AM. Commissioner Mike Doxey moved to grant the conditional-use permit with standard conditions including maintaining a business license, South Davis Metro Fire inspection if required, and compliance with jurisdictional requirements; Commissioner Robin Goodman seconded and the motion passed unanimously (6–0).
The permit approval stipulates business operations must not negatively impact adjacent properties and that staff will monitor compliance. Mr. Pearson said early-morning startup typically involves the shop foreman arriving to turn on lights and equipment, and he agreed to the amended hour condition to reduce potential neighborhood impacts.
