Board hears proposal to have Sangamon County handle zoning and permitting

During the zoning committee report the board discussed the ongoing need for a replacement Zoning Administrator. Attorney Jason Brokaw told the board there is an available intergovernmental agreement under which Sangamon County could assume permitting and building code enforcement for the village. Brokaw said he will attempt to have the County’s zoning administrator attend next month’s meeting to explain the arrangement and answer questions.
No formal action was taken at the Oct. 15 meeting; the item will return for discussion if county staff attend and present a proposal.
