Community Development reports high permit volume, selects firms for Hogan Park and City Hall design

Community Development Director Curtis Poole presented annual production and planning accomplishments that the department said inform FY2027 priorities. Poole reported 394 building permits issued, 715 existing business licenses issued or renewed through a new online process, 177 code enforcement cases opened (151 closed) and 79 land-use applications submitted. He said the Planning Commission adopted five code amendments, a Station Area Plan, a Moderate-Income Housing Report and a Wildland-Urban Interface plan during the prior year.
Poole also announced the selection of Hogan Construction as the construction manager/general contractor and Method Studios as the architect to work on renovating Hogan Park and designing a new City Hall. Those project decisions were presented as near-term capital priorities to carry into the FY2027 budget conversation.
