Startup Remine pitches e-waste recycling pilot to Boscawen EDC, proposes cost-and-credit model

Zeke Gable, representing Remine, presented an e-waste recycling pilot proposal to the Economic Development Committee on Aug. 4. Gable described Remine as a Bow-based middleman that disassembles electronics and sells recovered materials to recyclers such as Radius Recycling. He said the company would focus on computers, circuit boards, wiring, small electronics and scrap metals and would assist the town with regulatory compliance, including lithium-ion battery handling.
Gable outlined a "Cost-and-credit" model in which pickup fees would cover labor while recovered material value would generate credits or revenue for the town. He cited a national estimate that U.S. e-waste generation is about 46 pounds per capita with only 10–20% currently captured, and suggested a pilot beginning with low-labor items (cords, towers, PCs) to demonstrate reliability. EDC members advised Mr. Gable to contact the Director of Public Works, request placement on the Aug. 19 Select Board agenda, and reach out to Town Administrator Katie Phelps to coordinate next steps.
