Davis County says Bountiful library branch will close Jan. 26 for 18-month renovation; off-site services planned

Davis County Library Director Josh Johnson briefed the Woods Cross City Council that the Bountiful branch will close Jan. 26, 2026 for renovation and is expected to remain closed a minimum of 18 months. Johnson said the branch has served the South Davis community for over 50 years and officials are planning significant upgrades to ensure it serves the public for another 50 years.
During the closure an off-site branch will operate at 85 North Main Street in Bountiful, and the library will hold a "See You Soon" party on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026 from 1:00–3:00 p.m. to mark the transition. Johnson provided the council with the renovation timeline and encouraged the public to use the off-site services.
