Arcola says drainage work, manhole raises and second water tank are underway

City leaders tied drainage and sewer work to recent development: a subdivision the mayor described as "430 some homes" has come online and the Rivery Ranch project is expected to add roughly 500 homes in the next few years, increasing demand on stormwater and wastewater systems.
Officials did not provide detailed cost estimates or firm timelines for all projects; they said engineers are preparing scopes and that some work is already underway with county assistance.
