Recreation Board adds Tim Kozinko as supervisor appointee; school district seats to be removed
Summary
The board appointed Tim Kozinko to the Recreation Board and approved changing the Recreation and Parks ordinance so the Board of Supervisors — not the Greensburg Salem School District — will appoint all seven recreation‑board members.

The Salem Township Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Tim Kozinko to the Recreation Board to fill a vacancy left by Robin Savage. Recreation Board President Kathy Hamilton recommended Kozinko, citing his role as vice president of the Delmont Area Athletic Association, experience as a baseball coach, service as a Forbes Road volunteer firefighter and that he has the necessary clearances for working with children.
Supervisors also noted the Recreation and Parks ordinance will be amended so that all seven recreation‑board members will be appointed by the Board of Supervisors; the Greensburg Salem School District previously had two appointments but sent a letter declining to continue that arrangement.
Kozinko lives in Slickville and the supervisors said his local involvement and experience will be an asset to the board. The motion passed unanimously.
