Board members cited the federal American Rescue Plan Act as background funding that funneled about $1.6 billion to Pennsylvania for broadband programs in earlier rounds, and emphasized this action positions the township for future grant opportunities. Resident Lisa Segina asked what the designation provides; supervisors said it begins the administrative steps necessary before funds flow and that program details will be posted on the township website.
The motion passed unanimously. The board recorded the vote and will place broadband‑program materials on the township website and in future public meetings as required by the program.
