Planning Commission told Transportation Master Plan discussion will appear at next meeting

Staff told commissioners Feb. 24 that the Transportation Master Plan will be a discussion-only item at the next meeting with the Public Works Director and City Engineer; the city council is deciding whether to continue appointing a council liaison to the Planning Commission.
Community Development Director Curtis Poole told the Planning Commission that the Transportation Master Plan will likely be on the agenda at the commission's next meeting as a discussion-only item involving the Public Works Director and the City Engineer.
"At the next meeting they would most likely have a discussion on the Transportation Master Plan with the Public Works Director and City Engineer. He said this will be a discussion item only," Poole said. Poole also told the commission the city council recently debated whether to retain a council member as a liaison to the Planning Commission and that "the Mayor will make a decision soon on that matter."
The commission did not take action on the Transportation Master Plan at the Feb. 24 meeting; Poole framed the appearance as informational. Commissioners were informed that the liaison issue is pending a mayoral decision and that staff will present the Transportation Master Plan materials at the next meeting for discussion only.
