Planning Commission OKs Aero Kraft Aviation conditional use permit at Skypark hangar

The Woods Cross Planning Commission voted to approve a conditional use permit for Aero Kraft Aviation to operate manufacturing and repair activities from a hangar at 2115 South 1800 West, Suite 6, within Skypark Airport.
Code Officer Leah Seawright described the request, saying the business would focus on "building custom aircraft as well as repairing damaged aircraft for insurance companies and private owners," with all activities and storage maintained inside the hangar. Seawright told the commission the company currently has one employee, two parking spaces and plans to operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Owner Matthew Kraft addressed the commission and said he recently moved into the hangar and "started the business in January." Commissioners asked no further questions. Commissioner Mike Doxey moved to approve the permit with conditions requiring a business license, a South Davis Metro Fire inspection if required, ongoing compliance with jurisdictional requirements, and that operations not negatively impact neighboring properties. Commissioner Robin Goodman seconded the motion and the commission approved it by roll call vote.
