Planning Commission approves Pacific Paint conditional use permit at 2391 S. 1560 W.

The Woods Cross Planning Commission voted Feb. 24 to approve a conditional use permit for Pacific Paint and Wall Covering to operate from Suite D at 2391 South 1560 West.

Code Officer Leah Seawright summarized the application, saying the applicant is requesting approval "for the purpose of establishing a painting contractor business in the warehouse at this location" and that "all business activities and storage will be maintained within the warehouse." Seawright told the commission the business expects to operate weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., employs eight people and has 10 designated parking spaces.

Commissioner Mike Doxey asked whether outside storage could be placed in a fenced area behind the unit. Community Development Director Curtis Poole replied that "a solid wall would be required for any outside storage" and noted there is currently no wall around the unit, so one would have to be constructed before exterior storage would be permitted. Applicants Susan and Dan Delahunty addressed the commission and said they had "been in the area for around 20 years and are just moving their business a few buildings to the south."

Commissioner Doxey moved to approve the conditional use permit with conditions requiring a business license, a South Davis Metro Fire inspection if required, ongoing compliance with any government entity having jurisdiction, and that operations not negatively impact adjacent businesses or properties. Commissioner Robin Goodman seconded the motion and the commission approved it by roll call vote.
