"I was horrified, but sadly unsurprised to find literal pornographic images and perverted language right there in...books for my young kids to see and read," the parent (identified in the transcript as Jessica) said, then read multiple excerpts, some redacted in the transcript with asterisks. She named titles she reviewed in the children's section, said the materials included imagery she described as explicit and asked board members for answers.
The board clerk timed speakers and thanked the parent for raising the concern; no board action was taken at the meeting on library holdings.
