Board authorizes SRF grant preparation after lift-station repair estimate
Summary
Following a utilities report that engineers estimate $550,000–$750,000 to repair the terminal lift station if it fails, the board authorized Benton & Associates to prepare an SRF grant/loan application with a March 31, 2025 deadline.

The Village of New Berlin utilities report flagged the terminal lift station as a priority and noted engineers’ initial estimates that repairing a failed lift station could cost roughly $550,000–$750,000. The report warned that a lift-station failure would render the system inoperable. The report also noted that the SRF loan/grant application deadline is March 31, 2025.
Trustee Cindy Morris moved that Benton & Associates prepare the SRF grant application for the terminal lift station; Trustee Kris Neuman seconded and the motion carried. The motion appears to authorize staff to proceed with application work but does not commit the village to construction or borrowing beyond preparation of the application.
