The council approved multiple contract items during the Oct. 13 meeting. City Administrator Annette Goldberg summarized the proposed audit services agreement with Brooks Watson: the basic audit fee is $34,650, with a contingency for single-audit needs (e.g., more than $700,000 in federal grants) that could raise the total to the agenda cap of $42,150. Goldberg said the cap reflects typical additional single-audit work and asked the council to approve the not-to-exceed amount.
Council also approved a licensing agreement with True North Software for a records management system (not to exceed $15,000) and an annual maintenance agreement (not to exceed $5,000 starting FY27). Police Chief Erica Carr Bryant explained the records system will provide GPS tracking, vehicle interfaces with Fort Bend County and the ability to work from vehicles. Finally, the council approved a permit-system agreement with iWORKS Systems Inc. for up to $15,000 to combine permitting, inspections, fire marshal and related functions into a single address-based record.
The motions were made and passed by voice vote; staff said the new systems are expected to be comparable in price to current services and will improve efficiency.
