Arcola awards $79,192.58 contract for Wellness Park drainage and access work

Council approved a contract Oct. 13 with Blue Construction for ditch rehabilitation and related site work at the Wellness Park, capped at $79,192.58 and funded from the AMMD development agreement. City Engineer Lawrence Turner described the scope: adding an access from the existing paved area to the south, stabilizing subgrade and installing base material, creating a drainage culvert that ties into the existing paved area, and grading a drainage ditch along the south property line.
Turner said the work aims to direct stormwater away from the site and improve access. Council moved and seconded the contract approval and voted in favor by voice vote. Staff will oversee construction and return with status updates when work is scheduled and complete.
