Deputy director Joe (speaker 4) described Citizenserve as a cloud-based, customizable platform the commission has used since 2020 for permits, inspections and registrations; he said it consolidates data, inspection tracking and fee collections and offers vendor support. The resolution language read at the meeting authorized the executive director to spend $18,900 to extend the annual subscription. The motion was moved and seconded and the Commission approved the expenditure by voice vote.
Commission members asked whether saved staff time justifies the cost; staff replied the platform centralizes data, provides support and has replaced an internally maintained system, improving reliability and auditability.
