New Holland board completes routine business, assigns JULIE coordinator and appropriates MFT funds

The Village of New Holland Board convened Dec. 11, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at 109 West Lincoln Street with trustees Val Goin, Jim Shelton, Chris Cochran and Ed Davison present.
The board approved the secretary’s and treasurer’s reports on unanimous votes. According to the minutes, "Val Goin motioned to approve the secretary’s report. Jim Shelton seconded the motion. All in favor: Val Goin, Jim Shelton, Chris Cochran, Ed Davison." Later in the meeting, members designated Jim Shelton as the JULIE coordinator after noting that JULIE positive responses must be processed through the computer.
The board took several actions under Old and New Business. Jim Shelton moved to appropriate $20,000 for the 2026 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) maintenance program; Chris Cochran seconded and the motion passed unanimously. On a separate item, the board agreed to allow use of an insert-a-valve to plug the line to the old elevated water tank if no less expensive option is available; that motion also passed unanimously.
The board approved a holiday gift for employees, voting to give each of the six village employees a $100 gas gift card. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
