Planning commission recommends SALDO changes; supervisors to schedule public hearing after new year

Solicitor Atty. Falatovich told supervisors the Planning Commission held a public meeting on Nov. 19 to receive comment on proposed amendments to the township's Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO). He advised the board that the public hearing must be advertised in a paper of general circulation twice — first not less than 30 days before the hearing and again not less than seven days before — and that an ordinance approving amendments requires a separate advertisement seven days prior to adoption.
Supervisors agreed to schedule the public hearing after the first of the year. Falatovich said he is hopeful the Planning Commission will make recommendations on proposed changes at its meeting in the first week of December and that the board can then set the hearing date and move the ordinance through the required notice steps.
